I am glad that you are interested in SPUTNIK activities. At the moment, our SPUTNIK International Organization has two main bodies. One is SPUTNIK International-Japan and the other is SPUTNIK International-Sri Lanka. Both act separately but having a major objective.
Our main objective is "International friendship (cooperation) and world peace through educational and cultural exchange". We are stick to this theme but act in different ways to achieve our goal. Because we have different powers. For example, you have enough chances to work as part time workers and earn money while studying in high school or university in Japan.
But you can hardly find students who are working while attending to schools in Sri Lanka. This is because of the heavy unemployment problem in Sri Lanka and even the cultural habits and customs too, do not allow students for work in Sri Lanka.
Though it is very expensive to travel abroad, Japanese have a higher rate of chances compared to other nations even at the students age. This means that Japanese have many chances in sharing cultures at young age. Though you travel to another country, still you cannot have cultural experiences if you do not have a good link in between. Always the security reasons and language become barriers in both educational and cultural exchange. The sole purpose of the SPUTNIK International -Sri Lanka is to destroy those barriers and let you have a chance to share the cultures mutually. As mentioned in the web site, here in Sri Lanka we have an Education Centre and an International hall of exchange to serve these purposes. The SPUTNIK International-Japan too, helps to achieve the above objectives.
For example, financial assistance has already been granted to purchase the building to be utilized as the Education Centre and for the International Hall of Exchange. Further the members of SPUTNIK - Japan helps to maintain an International Library here at SPUTNIK Sri Lanka, which serves lending, and reference facilities for foreign languages, sports and child education. Once you visit SPUTNIK Sri Lanka you have the chances of staying at SPUTNIK, sharing cultures with the members of SPUTNIK, home stay opportunities, teaching at the education centre, sight seeing opportunities having the SPUTNIK as the centre and further you can do researches as well on what ever the area you wish (life, culture, customs, history, religion, languages, agriculture, economy, etc...). Once you become a member of the SPUTNIK International-Japan, you have the chance to serve the education in Japan non-formally. The word GLOBALIZATION is heard everywhere and has achieved the targets technologically. SPUTNIK lends it strength to achieve GLOBALIZATION humanistically.
